University of North Carolina School of the Arts High School (9-12)
The high school program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts combines top-tier academics with immersive conservatory training in the arts. You will earn a high-school diploma — including AP courses. If you are a musician or dancer, you will develop your craft alongside talented peers, and college and graduate students. The synergy can’t be matched.
The Academic ExperienceUNCSA high school students spend up to half of their time in academic courses. All classes — including Advanced Placement options in English, mathematics, science and social studies — are taught by full-time instructors holding master’s or doctoral degrees in their field. Class sizes are small (oftentimes 16 students or less) and academic subjects are infused with discussions of the arts and its important role in society at large.
Visit + ApplyThe best way to learn about UNCSA is to visit our campus, where you will experience the creative energy of our students firsthand. Whether rehearsing a scene, practicing a solo, researching a period dance in the library, or sharing ideas over lunch at The Pickle Jar, UNCSA students eat, breathe and live their art.
